Robert's Journey & Legacy ❤️

Robert's journey taught us about resilience, hope, and the importance of providing love and care to senior dogs. He was rescued from a difficult life on the streets of Georgia and found his way to New York City, where he was welcomed into the Badass Animal Rescue community. He spent time with his loving foster parents, Lindsay and Dan, who helped him overcome his medical challenges and brought out his playful side.

Robert's story touched our hearts and inspired us to create the Senior Dog Fund. We want to make a difference in the lives of senior dogs and ensure that they receive the love and care they need to live their golden years to the fullest.

Your donation to the Senior Dog Fund will help us continue Robert's legacy and provide love and care to senior dogs in need. We are grateful for your support and for being a part of the Badass Animal Rescue community.

Thank you for helping us make an impactful difference!

UPDATE 11/13/23:

The hardest part of rescue is saying goodbye to dogs in our care. This past weekend, our sweet and sassy senior Laverne crossed the rainbow bridge at 14.5-years-old after a tough battle with arthritis, tumors, and chronic pain. She was surrounded by love from the Badass community and her fosters Cara & Vin, who stepped up last year to give her a home for the holidays and again this year so she could wobble about in peace outside of the City.

We met Laverne in Dallas, TX. She was 12-year-old with arthritis and had been used for breeding. There was NO way we were going to leave her behind. Thank goodness we didn’t!

As our Executive Director puts it:
“It was not an easy ride for Laverne, from multiple tumor removal surgeries which took many vet visits to diagnose, to her chronic arthritis of all 4 legs and spine. She came to us in rough shape and it continued to get more complicated but she was worth every single dollar!

She brought so much joy to everyone that knew her during her time with Badass. Each foster loved her and truly appreciated who she was. But her last foster home is where she truly shined and lived the best part of her life. Being cared for in a home outside the city by Cara and Vincent who took her to regular pain management appointments, always on top of her medical and allowing her the peace of a quiet life of sniffing flowers and laying in the sun.

We know every time we rescue a senior that the time they have as a Badass is limited. But we also know that we are going to do everything we can to make sure it’s the best part of their life. That they have everything they need. It’s always a gamble in terms of the amount of time and it’s never easy when we have to say goodbye. Laverne’s pain may have ended but her memory will live in the heart of Badass for years to come. ”
