Their golden years should be spent in a loving home.

A soft bed. A gentle hand. Someone who makes sure they’re comfortable, cared for, and loved. These are things every senior dog deserves. But too many older dogs find themselves in shelters, waiting for someone to give them a chance.

At Badass, we say yes to seniors. We rescue dogs of all breeds, ages, sizes, and medical conditions, including older dogs whose care can come with a significant cost. We see their personalities, their capacity for love, and the lives they still have ahead of them.

This November, we’re celebrating Senior Dog Month by sharing the stories of Jane Goodall, Iris, Dolly Pawton, Justine Biagi, Siri, and Eddie Kendricks...and raising the funds that help dogs like them thrive.

Our goal is to raise $15,000 to support our senior dogs’ medical care and ongoing needs. From veterinary visits and diagnostic testing to medications, treatment, and everyday care, your generosity helps us meet each dog’s needs and prepare them for life in a loving home.

And thanks to a generous $3,000 matching gift from a generous donor, your donation can go twice as far. Every dollar donated will be matched, up to $3,000.

Throughout the month, you’ll meet seniors still waiting for families and hear from alumni whose lives have changed through adoption. Their stories show what your support makes possible: comfort, companionship, and a second chance.

Created in honor of Robert March along side his adopter, this fund is dedicated to supporting the current and future Badass senior dogs, here are some words that reflect on the impact of the fund so far:

Almost 4 years after Robert’s passing, his memory and legacy are more alive than ever. The Senior Dog fund gives dogs like Robert the opportunity to not only be loved but to provide unconditional love to their humans. Robert was that dog for me, he gave me so much and I know this fund has helped so many others like us. I am incredibly proud of everything the Senior Dog program has achieved and seeing the stories of the dogs that have gone through the program is a constant reminder of how special Robert was.

By allocating funds for education and outreach, we can create educational materials and host virtual workshops or seminars for pet owners.
  • $50+ Donation: With your donation of $50+, you can help us host senior dog adoption events to find these precious pups loving homes. Allocating funds for senior dog adoption events can cover the costs of advertising, event space, and supplies, helping senior dogs find their forever homes.
  • $100+ Donation: Your generous donation of $100+ can help provide mobility aids such as ramps, slings, or orthopedic beds, which can significantly improve the quality of life for senior dogs. These aids allow senior dogs to move around with ease and enjoy a comfortable retirement.
  • $250+ Donation: Your donation of $250+ can help support the medical care of senior dogs in need, including routine check-ups, medication, and emergency treatments. By allocating funds towards medical care, we can ensure that senior dogs receive the care they need to live happy, healthy lives.
  • $500+ Donation: Senior dogs require specialized care, and your donation of $500 or more can help cover the additional costs associated with their care, such as monthly expenses to stay longer in rescue care, senior dog blood panel testing, dental costs, and many more. Your contribution will go a long way towards improving the lives of these wonderful animals.
